Jalapoorna Trayodashi in Aashwayuja Maasa (Ashwin month) is a sacred and symbolic observance that occurs on the Krishna Paksha Trayodashi (13th day of the waning moon phase), typically just before Naraka Chaturdashi and Deepavali. What is Jalapoorna Trayodashi?It is a holy ritual day associated with purification through water (jala)."Jalapoorna" means completely filled with water signifying spiritual cleansing. This day is mainly dedicated to performing holy baths and water offerings to Lord Vishnu. It marks the start of the Deepavali spiritual energy. Taking a sacred bath (Snana) on this day is believed to remove papas (sins) and bring good health and fortune. It prepares devotees spiritually and physically for the important Deepavali rituals ahead. Rituals on Jalapoorna Trayodashi:Wake up early during Brahmi Muhurta (before sunrise).Perform Snana (bath) with water mixed with herbs or Ganga jal. Offer Jala to Saligrama.
