Sri Bhuvanendra Tirtharu

kArtIka shudha thritIya is the ArAdhane of shatAyushi shri bhuvanEndra tIrtharu of puthige maTa. Ashrama shishyaru: Shri rAjEndra tIrtharu and shri yOgIndra tIrtharu (puthige maTa), shri vidyAdIsha tIrtharu (krishNApura maTa) Ashrama Shishya : Sri Yogeendra Theertha / Vidyadheesha Theertha (Krishnapura mutt) He performed 4 Paryayas - 1768-70, 1784-86, 1800-02, 1816-18. He had seen 29 swamijis across the asTamaTAs in his 100 years. He had taught shriman Nyaya sudha to his Ashrama shishyarus 17 times. Shri mummuDi Krishnaraja woDeyaru was deeply influenced by the Swamiji and had become his disciple. The king had performed kanakAbhsishEka to swAmIji. Another king - Samantha Raja of keLadi - had offered entire TIrthahaLLi village to swamiji. Swamiji attained niryANa there only. shri bhuvanEndra tIrtha guruvantargata, bhAratIramaNa mukhyaprAnantargata rukmiNi satyabhAma pate shri vIra viTTala dEvAra pAdAravindakke gOvindA, gOvindA... Sri Bhuvanendra Theertha is the 24th saint after Madhwacharya in the guru parampare of Puttige mutt. Sri Bhuvanendra Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Surendra Theertha and ruled the Peeta for 38 years. He was a great scholar. He did Sudha mangala for 12 times. During his time Mysore kings came to Udupi for darshan and gave authority to Puttige mutt for doing anna-seva in Ananta temple daily. He was responsible for developing Anatasayana temple. He completed 4 paryayas in his time. His Aradhana is being celebrated not only in Puttige mutt but also in some other mutts which shows his greatness. He was believed to be lived for 100 years. Bhuvanendra teerthara brindavana is at Kuruvalli in teerthahalli. He has been mentioned in Vishvapriyavilaasa written by kochi rangappacharya .He had done sudha mangala for 12 times.He renovated Anantesshvara temple at Udupi.He had many sanyasi shishyaru like Yogindra teertharu of puthige mutt,Vidyadheesha teertharu of Krishnapura mutt,Rajendra yatigalu,etc.Because of his Panditya ,puthige matha got jahgeer at Teerthahalli. His disciple Rajendra yatigaLu entered brindavana .So he gave ashrama to yogeendra teertharu.
