Sri Devendra Tirtharu

Sri Devendra Tirtharu Theertharu Theertharu was a profoundly revered Bidi Sanyasi known for his immense devotion and spectacular pravachanas. Just after his marriage, he decided to embrace Sanyasa and prayed deeply to Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu (Rayaru). Miraculously, Rayaru appeared in his dream and blessed him with the name 'Devendra Tirtharu '! He formally took ashrama directly in front of Rayaru's Mruttika Brindavana at Hampapura. Later, he received Guru Upadesha of the Pranavadi Mahamantra from Sri Satyapramoda Tirtharu of the Uttaradi Matha. He spent his life delivering powerful discourses; astonishingly, even in his old age when he completely lost his eyesight, he continued to deliver profound, flawless pravachanas without looking at any scriptures!
