📖 About Sri Kavindra Tirtharu
Shri Kavindra Teertha was the biological brother of Shri Rajendra Teertha in his poorvashrama, where he was known as Vishnudasacharya. Prior to his initiation into sainthood, he composed the profound philosophical work 'Vadaratnavali'. He was formally crowned as 'Vedanta Samrat' by his Guru, Shri Vidyadhiraja Teertha, in a traditional and grand public ceremony that transferred the entire, undivided samsthana and all its properties to him. This uninterrupted lineage of the Uttaradi Matha as the original line of Shri Madhwacharya (the propounder of Dvaita/Tattvavada) is historically documented by the eminent scholar Prof. Dasgupta in his work, 'The History of Indian Philosophy'. Shri Kavindra Teertha successfully steered the pontificate through this critical transition before passing the unbroken succession to his disciple, Shri Vageesha Teertha.
