📖 About Sri Lakshmi Natha Tirtharu
Sri Lakshminatha Tirtha, the 19th Pithadhipati of the Srimatha, was ordained by Sri Lakshmivallabha Tirtha and received extensive royal patronage from Tirumala Nayaka of Madurai and Sriranga Raya III of Penukonda during his 20 to 25-year tenure. Highly revered for his intellectual depth, his academic guidance came from his Vidya Guru, Sri Yadavendra Tirtha (disciple of Sri Sudhindra Tirtha). The saint famously authored masterly expository notes (Vyakhyana) on the Vyasatraya trilogy, consisting of Nyayamruta, Tarkatandava, and Tatparya Chandrika. Though only fractions of his Nyayamruta commentary survive today, it was considered so indispensable that later spiritual luminaries like Sri Vidyashridhara Tirtha would not teach the text without it. Among his notable householder disciples was Sri Kundalagiri Suri of Belur. After passing the monastic seat to Sri Lakshmipati Tirtha, the saint attained Haripada at Sriranga Kshetra. His holy Vrindavana marks the Srimatha's first permanent physical landmark in this sacred town, anchoring a multi-tomb complex known today as the Pancha Vrindavana Kshetra.
