π About Sri Lakshmiramana Tirtharu
As per the legends, during the childhood of this yativarenya, he used to catch & play with a King cobra which used to loosen its head on the head of Srigalu. Sri Lakshminarayana teertharu had constructed the "Olaga Mantapa" which is towards the east of maThaβs building at Udupi & dedicated to Sri Krishna. During that time, the Diwan of Udupi, Sri Mudradi Ananthayya had registered the village of Shirooru to Sri Vitthala devaru on the day Vaishaka Bahula trayodashi of Dhaatu samvatsara (1756 CE). Srigalu further constructed the maTha at Shirooru village. Also, Sri Mudradi Ananthayya had given lands at his ancestral home "Santyaru" at Shivapuri for the Aradhyadeva. Sri Lakshmiramana teertharu ruled the samsthana for 46 years & attained paramdhama on the day of Margashira Shuddha Trayodashi of Plava samvatsara (1781 CE) at Shirooru.
