📖 About Sri Rama Tirtharu
Sri Rama Tirtharu was ordained the 14th Peetadhipati by Sri Srinivasa Tirtha and was a contemporary of Sri Vijayindra Tirtha. We understand from tradition that the demolition of the Vijayanagara empire was foretold and happened shortly after his ascension to the holy Peetha.
We understand from tradition that, as advised by his guru, Sri Rama Tirtha continued to remain at Hampi by establishing a Matha at Anegondi and taking care of thousands of people displaced during the post-war period, which is not to be found now.
However, as the kulaguru for the empire, he is supposed to have ensured the safety of the royal family by advising his successor (to be Sri Lakshmikanta Tirtha), who held an important position in the kingdom, to assist with the relocation of the royal family from Hampi to Penukonda.
Sri Rama Tirtharu attained Haripada later, and his Brindavana was consecrated in the Anegondi Navabrindavana complex along with the other eight saints.
