📖 About Sri Ramachandra Tirtharu
Sri Ramachandra Tirtharu was a profoundly revered 16th-century ascetic of the Madhwa tradition who lived as a Bidi Sanyasi, dedicating his life entirely to intense tapas, scholarship, and Hari Bhakti free from institutional administration. Celebrated as an ardent Narasimha upasaka and a Nithyopavasi for his continuous severe fasting and austere discipline, he spent his spiritual life in Kumbakonam along the sacred Cauvery. His holy Moola Brindavana at Amarendrapuram (Melacauvery) remained concealed underground for centuries until it was miraculously revealed through the divine vision and devotional compositions of the saintly devotee Smt. Ammalu Ammal, who revered him as her Guru. His sacred Aradhana is observed annually with great devotion on Bhadrapada Shukla Triteeya.
