Sri Ramachandra Tirtharu

The eleventh seer in the lineage of gurus of Palimaru Matha is Shri Ramachandra Teertha. He is the eminent scholar who launched the victory flag of Madhva philosophy sky-high by winning over his opponents in debates. He is a contemporary of profound savants such as Shri Vyaasaraja. Shri Vaadiraja and Shri Vijayeendra who revolutionised the Madhva tradition. He adorned the peeta for about 20 years. He was instrumental in the establishment Shri Gokarna Partagaali Jeevottama Matha of the gouda saraswat community and appointed Shri Narayana Teertha as the pontiff. This noble seer attained the feet of Paanduranga in Shalivaahana shaka 1424 (1502 A.D.) Durmukha samvatsara karteeka bahula chaturdashi at Pandarapura along the banks of Bhimarathi.
