Sri Sankarshana Wodayaru

Sri Sankarshana Wodayaru (poorvashrama Tammanna) was an extraordinarily devout Bidi Sanyasi of the Uttaradi Matha parampara. In a legendary display of supreme detachment (vairagya), he sacrificed his entire family inheritance just to clear debts and retrieve the priceless Navarathna Mantapa for his Guru, Sri Satya Parayana Tirtharu . Initiated into sanyasa, he embarked on divine pilgrimages, being directly guided by Lord Venkateshwara in his dreams to restore poojas at Vellore and Sholingur. He composed profound works like the Sankarshana Kavacham. After entering his holy Brindavana at KaraiPoondi on Margashira Shudda Panchami, he performed a breathtaking miracle: appearing in a dream eight months later, he guided his disciples to unearth his Brindavana, revealing his physical body and Gopichandana mudras were still miraculously fresh and completely untouched by time!
