phAlguNa shuddha pourNami is the ArAdhane of shri sumatIndra tIrtharu Sri Sumateendra Theertha is the 26th saint after Madhwacharya in the guru parampare of Puttige mutt. Ashrama Shishya : Sri Sudheendra Theertha (Uttaradhikari) Sri Sumateendra Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Yogeendra Theertha and ruled the Peeta for few years. He was a great scholar. When Sri Sumateendra Theertha gave Ashrama to his relative without any shastric background, Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha of Krishnapura mutt opposed it and gave Ashrama to other person and named him Sri Sudheendra Theertha and declared him as successor to Sri Sumateendra Theertha. Later he won this in court also. Later without further continuing the fight, Sri Sumateendra Theertha accepted the decision of Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha and made Sri Sudheendra Theertha as his successor.
