Sri Vedapathi Tirtharu

Sri Vedapathi Tirtharu Theertha, the 13th pontiff, was a highly renowned ascetic. Recognizing his spiritual greatness, the ruler of Bellare offered him the village of Kaniyooru—the very place of Sage Kanwa's penance—along with a sacred 16-armed Narasimha idol that is still worshipped at the Matha today. He passed the Matha to his disciple, Shri Vedaraja Theertha, and entered Brindavana at Shri Krishna Kshethra.
