📖 About Sri Vidyapoorna Tirtharu
Śrī Vidyapoorna Tīrtha, originally named Veṅkaṭa Narasiṁhācārya, was the Pūrvāśrama son of Śrī Vidyākānta Tīrtha and was ordained as the 30th Pīṭādhipati of the Śrī Vyāsarāja Maṭha by Śrī Vidyānidhi Tīrtha. His tenure spanned 48 years across four twelve-year periods (Paṭṭa), a duration widely celebrated as a golden era in the history of the Maṭha. Under his leadership, the fully functional Śāstraic institution 'Śrīmat Vyāsarāja Vidyāpīṭha' was established. He was renowned for resolving inter-institutional conflicts and nurturing legendary scholars; he personally tutored Śrī Bhīmasenācārya (later Śrī Vidyāśrīdhara Tīrtha), who in turn educated future spiritual giants like Śrī Vidyāsamudra Tīrtha and Śrī Vidyāratnākara Tīrtha. His immense spiritual stature led Maharaja Mummaḍi Kṛṣṇaraja Wodeyar of Mysore to famously proclaim, 'When we talk of Maṭha, it is Śrī Vyāsarāja Maṭha and when we mention Svāmiji, it is Śrī Vidyāpūrṇa Tīrtha Svāmiji.' After a glorious pontificate, he ordained Śrī Vidyāśrīsindhu Tīrtha as his successor and attained Haripāda, with his Vṛndāvana established alongside those of his Guru and Paramaguru.
