📖 About Sri Vidyashreesha Tirtharu
Prof. D. Prahladachar (b. 1940, Bellary, Karnataka) is an internationally reputed scholar of Navya-nyaya, Sahithya, and Dvaita Vedanta, who received his early traditional education under H H Shri Vidyamanyatirtha Swamiji and Shri Vishveshatirtha Swamiji. Over a distinguished career as an educationist, he served as Assistant Professor of Tarka at Government Sanskrit College, Bangalore, Professor of Sanskrit at Bangalore University, and Honorary Director of Poornaprajna Samshodhana Mandiram. He has mentored hundreds of students, guided numerous doctoral scholars, authored over a hundred research papers, and critically edited or translated numerous Sanskrit works into Kannada, earning prestigious titles like Panditharathna and Pandithakulabhushana. As the dynamic Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati, he led the institution to an 'A+' NAAC accreditation, UGC recognition as a 'Centre for Excellence in Traditional Shastras,' introduced pioneer distance education courses, and launched the prominent 'Sanskrit and Science Exhibition' as well as the 'SANSKNET' digital library project. His immense contributions were honored with the UGC's Vedavyasa National Sanskrit Award (2004), the Certificate of Honour by the President of India (2005), and Mahamahopadhyaya titles from both Rashtriya Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya (2007) and Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit University (2010), alongside memberships in numerous national academic bodies and universities.
